King Stephen ruled England from 1135 to 1154. His claim to the throne was challenged by his cousin Empress Matilda, leading to the long civil conflict remembered as The Anarchy.
The struggle ultimately ended with an agreement recognising Matilda's son, the future Henry II, as Stephen's successor. Stephen died in 1154, bringing his turbulent reign—and the Norman royal dynasty—to an end.
A striking collectible for fans of English history, medieval warfare, the Normans, Empress Matilda and The Anarchy.
