Geoffrey V of Anjou (1113–1151) was Count of Anjou, Touraine and Maine and became Duke of Normandy through his marriage to Empress Matilda, daughter and heir of King Henry I of England.

Their marriage created the dynasty that would become known as the Plantagenets. Their eldest son, Henry II, became King of England in 1154, beginning a dynasty that would rule England for centuries.

Geoffrey was also an important figure during The Anarchy, the long struggle between Empress Matilda and King Stephen for the English throne. While Matilda fought for her claim in England, Geoffrey campaigned successfully in Normandy, eventually securing the duchy.

A striking collectible for fans of medieval history, the Plantagenets, Empress Matilda, The Anarchy, English history and historical miniatures.
