Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar (c. 1043–1099), better known as El Cid, was a Castilian knight and military leader who became one of the most celebrated figures of medieval Spain. He fought for both Christian and Muslim rulers during the complex conflicts of 11th-century Iberia and eventually established his rule over Valencia.
His exploits were transformed into legend, most famously through the medieval Spanish epic El Cantar de mio Cid, making El Cid an enduring symbol of medieval chivalry and Spanish history.
A striking collector’s piece for enthusiasts of medieval history, Spanish history, knights, historical warriors, cavalry and hand-painted historical figurines.
