Edward III (1312–1377) ruled England for more than fifty years and became one of the most celebrated warrior kings of medieval Europe. In 1337, his claim to the French throne helped ignite the Hundred Years’ War. His reign saw major English victories including Crécy in 1346, while his son Edward of Woodstock—the famous Black Prince—became one of the era’s legendary military commanders.
Edward III was also responsible for founding the Order of the Garter, which remains Britain’s oldest and most prestigious order of chivalry.
A striking collector’s piece for enthusiasts of English history, the Plantagenets, the Hundred Years’ War, medieval knights, warrior kings and historical figurines.
